Real estate groups expand in Caribbean, Costa Rica

Sotheby’s International Realty and Realty ONE Group recently announced plans to expand offices in the Caribbean and Costa Rica, respectively. 

Sotheby’s International Realty is opening offices in the dual islands of St. Kitts and Nevis, bringing its total number of Caribbean offices to 30. 

Neil Paine owns and operates St. Kitts & Nevis Sotheby’s International Realty. The company is headquartered in Belmont Garden, Nevis which serves St. Kitts and Nevis. Paine said he looks forward to helping others in the new partnership. 

President and CEO of Sotheby’s International Realty Phillip White noted that the Caribbean is an attractive destination for those interested in investing. 

“Many of our existing affiliates in the region have reported record-breaking sales volume and history-making average sales prices in 2020 and the first quarter of 2021,” he said. “[the island] is considered a hidden sanctuary, that is seeing its luxury market expand due to increased interest from ex-pats, pre-retirees, high-profile athletes and investors thanks to its golden visa program.” 

Realty ONE Group in Central America

Realty ONE Group sold franchise rights to Sergio E. Gonzalez to open offices in Costa Rica, with plans to extend into South America. Gonzalez is a 30-year resident of Costa Rica with two decades of real estate experience, according to Realty ONE Group. Earlier this summer, Realty ONE Group announced to open offices in Spain and Singapore.   

Gonzalez said plans to use the Costa Rican office as a stepping stone into opening offices in South America.

Sotheby’s International Realty was founded in 1976. Currently, the company has approximately 1,000 offices located in 74 countries. 

Realty ONE Group employs 6,000 real estate professionals in over 300+ offices across 45 U.S. states, Washington D.C. and Canada.
