Largest Berkshire Hathaway franchise gets new GM

Industry veteran John “JT” Thompson will oversee 34 offices across three states

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Nevada, Arizona and California Properties, which completed $9.3 billion in residential home sales in these states in 2021, appointed John “JT” Thompson as its new general manager.

A veteran in the real estate industry, Thompson will supervise and support managers across 34 offices with more than 2,900 real estate sales executives. He will focus on sales production, recruitment, retention and increasing market share in his new role.

He will include helping the company continue its provisions of mortgage, title, escrow and insurance services.

“His extensive background and knowledge of our industry will further our commitment to strategic growth and revolutionize our approach towards internal and external development as a leading force in each of our markets,” said Troy Reierson, CEO of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Nevada, Arizona and California Properties, in a prepared statement.

“With a proven ability to deliver results, JT’s leadership will substantially drive the value for our real estate sales executives through promoting the growth of their businesses and advancing their personal evolvement,” Reierson added.

Thompson’s professional career spans more than 35 years. Prior to joining the firm, Thompson co-founded Intero Real Estate Services, a real estate services company and a Berkshire Hathaway affiliate in Silicon Valley. Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices acquired the company in 2014.

“Their values and goals align with my objective to provide our real estate sales executives with an advantage by prioritizing both their professional and personal development,” Thompson said.

Thompson worked alongside Gino Blefari, the current CEO of HomeServices of America, Inc., for more than two decades, with Thompson playing an integral part of the company’s growth.

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Nevada, Arizona and California Properties is a wholly owned subsidiary of HomeServices of America, Inc. It currently operates in three states with 2,900 real estate sales executives and 34 offices.

The firm’s California Properties ranked in RealTrends’ 2022 America’s Best Real Estate Professionals.
