Your Most Frequently Asked Rankings Questions...Answered!

Jul 10, 2018 10:48:38 AM

We have compiled the most frequently asked agent and team rankings questions that our team has heard over the years.  Questions like:

"What are the rankings?"

"What is the difference between The Thousand and America's Best?"

"How Do I Apply?"

All these and more answered below!

Q1: What is The Thousand?

The Thousand which is advertised in The Wall Street Journal is a national ranking that ranks verified agents and teams across the U.S. that meet the following minimum qualifications to apply:

  •  An individual must have closed at least 50 sides OR $20 million in sales volume.
  • A team must have closed at least 75 sides OR $30 million in closed sales volume.

.This ranking is broken down into four categories:

  1. Top 250 individuals by transaction sides,
  2. Top 250 individuals by sales volume,
  3. Top 250 teams by transaction sides
  4. Top 250 teams by sales volume.

Any agent that submits to our ranking, meets the minimum qualifications and provides verification will be ranked on America’s Best via their state and metropolitan statistical area.

Q2: What is America’s Best?

America's Best America’s Best is separate from The Thousand, even though it’s comprised from the same application pool, and is not associated with The Wall Street Journal.  America’s Best Real Estate Professionals Rankings developed as the result of agents and consumers requesting more localized rankings. The minimum qualifications are the same as The Thousand (listed above) but did not make the 250 cut off for individual sides or volume or teams sides per volume.

Q3: What verification is acceptable?

We accept any of the following four types of verification: Verification from the local or state Realtor® association which the sales professional or sales team has a membership, a signed letter from the broker/owner (Note: broker/owners cannot sign off on their own submissions), copy of 1099 or business tax return for 2016, OR the national network which the sales professional or sales team has its affiliation. The top 20 may be required to submit an additional, second form of verification.

Q4: Last year I only saw 250 names in The Thousand, why aren’t there 1,000?

The Thousand is made up of four categories that feature the top 250 for individuals by sides, individuals by sales volume, teams by sides and teams by sales volume. These four categories together equal 1,000. The list posted online is the complete rankings.

Q5: I paid, will I automatically be on the rankings? I didn’t receive a confirmation email, what should I do?

No, the $100 application fee goes towards administrative costs and does not guarantee you will make the rankings. An application with your production numbers must be submitted along with 3rd party verification to be included. Failure to submit verification will automatically disqualify you from the rankings.

Q6: How Do I Promote My Ranking?
