The Nielsen Group leaves Sotheby’s for Engel & Völkers Kirkland

The top-producing Seattle-based team’s average annual sales volume totals more than $50 million

Top-producing Seattle-based team The Nielsen Group has left Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty and joined global luxury real estate brand Engel & Völkers Kirkland, the firm announced on Wednesday.

“As our presence grows in Kirkland, Seattle and across the Pacific Northwest, we’re thrilled to welcome Sean, Ashley and Mari to the brand,” Marcel Dolak, a license partner at Engel & Völkers Kirkland, said in a prepared statement.

The Nielsen Group’s average annual sales volume totals more than $50 million in the greater Seattle and Bellevue area. The team has a collective professional experience of 25 years in the real estate industry and includes Sean Nielsen, Ashley Stevens and Mari Moline.

“Their experience and proven success in the market add immediate value to our business and clients not only on a local level but also to our regional, national and global networks,” Dolak said.

As team lead and founder, Nielsen’s career spans 18 years in real estate, including 12 years at Sotheby’s as a luxury eco-broker, where he helped clients buy eco-friendly homes and condos.

Prior to this role, Nielsen was a real estate professional at Windermere Real Estate.

The Pacific Northwest native will now serve as the director of business development, Engel & Völkers Kirkland while continuing to help clients. His teammates will focus on client experience.

“Engel & Völkers’ boutique approach to serving both clients and advisors resonated with our team,” said Nielsen. “We’re better positioned to reach our growth potential, and I believe consumers are increasingly drawn to brands and professionals that offer a highly personalized real estate experience.”

Founded in 1977 in Germany, Engel & Völkers’ global network includes more than 16,500 real estate professionals in more than 31 countries, according to the statement.

Last November, Engel & Völkers snagged Taso Tsakos, Keri O’Reilly, Karen Roy, Cat Spender and Skylar Santa Barbara, a team that ranked among the top 1.49% of real estate professionals by sales volume on RealTrends.

In October 2022, top real estate agent Tracy McLaughlin also left The Agency to join Engel & Völkers.
