RealTrends requires brokerage firms to have a minimum of 500 transaction sides to apply for the rankings. This year, more than 1,700 firms (RealTrends 500 combined with RealTrends Nation’s Best) qualified for our brokerage rankings.

“In the beginning, when I first started doing rankings some 35 years ago, we barely have enough to fill the RealTrends 500, now we have the 500 and then some,” says Steve Murray, senior advisor for RealTrends.

This year, there are 1, 234 real estate brokerage firms in the RealTrends Nation’s Best rankings, a compilation of the brokerages who did not rank in the top 500, but are no less impressive.

California, Florida and Texas were the states with the most brokerage firms ranked in the Nation’s Best.
