John L. Scott Real Estate scoops up Seattle-area brokerage

Acquisition of Bellevue, Washington-based brokerage adds 28 brokers to John L. Scott

West Coast heavyweight independent brokerage John L. Scott Real Estate has acquired Bellevue, Washington-based Fresh Look Real Estate.

Fresh Look has brokers serving clients in King, Pierce and Snohomish Counties, Washington.

Through the merger, John L. Scott reported that it gained 28 broker associates and five brokers-in-training. These brokers will join the John L. Scott Kent North branch, bringing the office’s broker count to 178.

Fresh Look was founded in 2016 by Tony Lopez. At John L. Scott, Lopez will serve as the Kent North office’s sales manager, joining office leaders Jim Willner and Eric Shull. Lopez also serves as president and board member of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP), Seattle chapter.

“I see the future potential in the brand to grow into a bigger regional influence on the real estate market and I would love to support that growth,” Lopez wrote in an email. “I appreciated the diversity and the ability to adapt in the ever increasingly changing real estate market. JLS really impressed me with their perspective and care for growing brokers business and giving back to the community.”

Founded in 1931, John L. Scott operates 100 offices with over 3,000 agents throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Northern California. The John L. Scott-KMS Renton and Kent North offices began in 1977 as Kamas Realty. Both offices became John L. Scott franchises in 1992 and transitioned to company-owned offices in 2019.

John L. Scott came in at #16 in RealTrends’ latest brokerage rankings with $12.45 billion in sales volume across 19,443 transaction sides in 2021.
