4 Ways to Ignite Productivity at Your Home Office

Ignite Your Productivity – How To Stay On Task While Working at Home

As more brokerages focus on going virtual, many real estate agents find themselves able to work from home. Some prefer the flexibility to work from a home office than going into their brokerage office – while some may find it hard to stay motivated and productive at home. Ignite your productivity with these tips.

Create Your Space
Being able to find a dedicated workspace is essential to get you focused. At all costs, you must avoid family rooms or kitchens as a home office it’ll only create distractions. Don’t forget to make sure there’s proper lighting and that the room is comfortable. Of course, having windows in your office is a plus as they inspire creativity.

2—Adopt technology
It increases your efficiency no matter where you’re working. Communication platforms (slack, teamwork, asana) cloud storage, and printer/scanner can turn your personal computer or laptop into a fully functional office no matter where you are.

3—Don’t mix personal and professional.
I remember this firsthand as it was a rookie mistake on my end, you must let everyone know that being at home doesn’t mean you’re available for lengthy conversations. Always make sure that your lunch dates are with prospects or fellow agents. Do not check Facebook as it can have a significant impact on your productivity.  If you’re not using it for advertising or connecting with prospects or actual clients, don’t have it up.

4—Plan for everything.
Working from home can be filled with distractions, from updating your social media profiles to finally getting to do that laundry duty, or taking a long lunch. It’s critical for you to outline a clear daily schedule, and stick to it.

With a little bit of self discipline these steps can be simple to incorporate and to further ignite your productivity.
