Finger Lakes joins Sotheby’s International Realty network in New York

This marks the brokerage’s 59th office in the state

Sotheby’s International Realty has expanded further into New York with the addition of Finger Lakes Realty Partners to its network, marking its 59th office in the state. The firm will now operate as Finger Lakes Sotheby’s International Realty, Sotheby’s announced on Wednesday.

The Skaneateles, New York-based firm has been owned and operated by broker Jerry Morrissey for more than 12 years. It serves the central New York and the Finger Lakes regions, and areas up to Lake Ontario.

“Jerry and his team have been operating in the region for several years and have grown to become one of the area’s most successful independently owned companies,” said Philip White, president and CEO of Sotheby’s International Realty, in a prepared statement.

The firm consists of real estate associates and partners that include the Jane Ross-Lauren Ryan team, Tom Morrissey, Ray Tapio, and Jacqueline Jones.

“This area is a part of me…,” Morrissey said. “Sotheby’s International Realty checked those boxes and enables us to combine our local knowledge and expertise with its unrivaled brand recognition, marketing power, and international exposure – a home run for our clients, markets, and agents.”

Morrissey was born and raised in Central New York and the Finger Lakes region, and his professional career spans more than two decades in the real estate industry. In 1993, Morrissey founded and served as the CEO of Prolac, and later became an associate broker at Remax Masters.

In 2010, Morrissey and his partners started an independently-owned boutique real estate company, FLR, in the Finger Lakes Region, where Morrissey led the business growth initiatives.

According to White, the Finger Lakes region is considered a “hidden gem,” with lakes and landscapes. It has become a desirable second-home market for buyers prioritizing lifestyle in their home searches.

Founded in 1976, the Sotheby’s International Realty network currently has more than 26,000 affiliated independent sales associates in 1,075 offices in 81 countries and territories worldwide, and 48 company-owned brokerage offices in metropolitan and resort markets, per the statement.

The affiliate network is operated by Sotheby’s International Realty Affiliates LLC. Both the entities are subsidiaries of real estate franchise Anywhere Real Estate Inc.
