Corcoran Group welcomes new Georgia-based affiliate

Corcoran Classic Living is the brokerage’s second affiliate in the Peach State

The Corcoran Group announced the launch of its newest affiliate brokerage in Athens, Georgia, on Monday. This is Corcoran’s second affiliate in the Peach State, after it opened the Savannah-based Corcoran Austin Hill Realty last month.

The new Corcoran Classic Living will be owned by Sarah Ellis.

“As we continue to grow our strong presence in the southern United States, I couldn’t be happier that less than two months after launching in Savannah, we’re already expanding in the state of Georgia with Sarah and her team,” Pamela Liebman, the president and CEO of the Corcoran Group, said in a statement.

Founded in 2005, the firm formerly known as CJ&L Real Estate represented clients in Athens and the surrounding areas including Watkinsville, Bogart, and Jackson County. Ellis was named managing broker for the firm in 2006 after obtaining her broker’s license.

Located 70 miles east of Atlanta and home to University of Georgia, Athens is a hub for foodies and music lovers alike. While its February 2022 median list price of $302,500 is slightly below the national median, according to Realtor.com, home prices in Athens are on the rise and it is a strong sellers market.

“Athens is a beautiful, vibrant, collegiate city with so much to offer both locals and those looking to relocate, including University of Georgia students and alumni alike looking to establish roots in the area,” Liebman said in a statement.

Earlier this month, Corcoran announced the launch of Corcoran Cayman Islands, which marked the brokerage’s launch in the British Territory. Since launching in early 2020, the Corcoran Affiliate Network has added dozens of affiliates across the U.S. and the Caribbean. The brand now has more than 5,500 agents across more than 30 markets.
