Compass’s downtown Manhattan sales director decamps for SERHANT.

Dennis Cusack says Ryan Serhant's brokerage stands out from the pack

Ryan Serhant’s eponymous brokerage has lured one of Compass’s top New York City luxury brokers.

Dennis Cusack, who’s brought in over $400 million in sales volume in his career, is shedding his role as director of sales at Compass and transitioning to an agent at SERHANT, according to Inman News.

As director of sales at Compass for Downtown Manhattan, Cusack oversaw $1.5 billion in sales annually. Before his three-and-a-half year stint at Compass, Cusack managed Stribling & Associates’ downtown office (Stribling was later acquired by Compass).

At SERHANT., he’ll focus on luxury co-ops, condos and townhouses in Manhattan.

“I’ve been in the industry for two decades, both as an agent and as a sales manager, and when I looked at the industry landscape overall, there are few firms that stand out and differentiate themselves, and SERHANT. is one of those firms,” Cusack told Inman in an emailed statement.

Serhant, a celebrity agent for a decade, launched his residential brokerage in September 2020 and has attracted a number of agents from Compass. The brokerage has targeted agents who embrace social media, video and their own branding. Agents are able to pitch their own internet shows and have access to an in-house film and production team. SERHANT. covers the cost of guided video tours for properties listed at $10 million and up.
