The Keyes Company Florida Completes Another Brokerage Acquisition

Growing firm, The Keyes Company, adds Stuart-based The Real Estate Company, Inc. to Treasure Coast operation

The Keyes Company has bolstered its team servicing the Treasure Coast with the acquisition of Stuart-based firm The Real Estate Company, Inc. This marks the sixth brokerage acquired by Keyes and its Family of Companies in the past year.

Led by Jim Weix, The Real Estate Company, Inc. brings 25 agents to the Keyes Stuart office managed by Nancy Taylor. The firm was founded in 2002 and generated a 2017 sales volume of more than $40 million.

The move was officially announced on Thursday, May 31.

“As the brokerage industry becomes increasingly challenging, we felt we needed a partner that would advance and support our agents and take their business to the next level,” Weix said. “Keyes particularly appealed to us because of the firm’s independent nature.”

Going forward, The Real Estate Company, Inc. will operate out of the Keyes Stuart office located at 309 Osceola St., Suite 204.

“The addition of The Real Estate Company, Inc. and the firm’s talented agents to our family is an exciting development in an important market for us,” Keyes CEO Mike Pappas said. “We continue to pursue the right expansion opportunities throughout South Florida, the Keys and the Treasure Coast.”

During the first quarter of 2018, Keyes announced the acquisition of Aventura-based Rickenback Realty. Inc. and Boynton Beach-based The Realty Pros. The moves added a combined 68 agents to the firm.

Through these acquisitions, the agents involved are able to take advantage of the resources, technology, marketing, leadership and independent nature of Keyes as they promote their properties and enjoy increased sales and listing opportunities.

Independently-owned and operated since its founding in 1926, Keyes is extremely active in all segments of residential real estate. In 2017, Keyes generated more than $6 billion in real estate services across its Family of Companies.

The Keyes Family of Companies is the largest independently-owned real estate firm in Florida and a Top 30-ranked firm in the entire United States.
