ShowingTime Announces New Innovation to Provide More Secure Lockbox Access for Real Estate Professionals via Bluetooth® Technology

Newest capability provides enhanced security while eliminating the need for access codes for ShowingTime listings in select markets.

ShowingTime announced a new functionality available within its scheduling services that provides select lockbox users with a more secure way to access properties using their smartphone via the ShowingTime mobile app.

The new feature, ShowingTime Secure Access, provides added security using ShowingTime’s appointment data and eliminates the need to obtain access codes, enabling quick access for confirmed appointments with a simple touch of a button.

This capability, using Bluetooth technology, is now being released to two markets, MiRealSource of Michigan and Manitowoc County Board of Realtors® Inc., which is part of METRO MLS in Wisconsin, where Master Lock® Bluetooth lockboxes are currently being used. While ShowingTime and Master Lock collaborated to develop this functionality, ShowingTime Secure Access is designed to be integrated with any Bluetooth-enabled lockbox.

ShowingTime Secure Access will be seamless for those using any ShowingTime product, with no additional apps or training required. When a lockbox is linked to a listing within ShowingTime, confirmed appointments will now include a simple in-app button for the buyer’s agent to tap to unlock the home’s lockbox using their Bluetooth connection.

The same capability will be available for other real estate professionals who use the ShowingTime mobile app such as inspectors, appraisers and other professionals involved in the sales process. Temporary access codes will also be available for those who do not use the ShowingTime mobile app.

This new technology also provides enhanced security for properties, as lockbox access is granted based on ShowingTime’s real-time appointment data. Agents will only be able to open the lockbox within a limited time window on the date and time of their confirmed appointment.

In addition, all lockbox activity will be tracked and included within ShowingTime’s Listing Activity Report, giving listing agents and sellers an even more comprehensive picture of who accessed the property and when.
