Real Estate Agents Create Dance-Off Viral Videos

The Smith Group Issues Duffy Challenge As Property Marketing Reaches New Level

The #DuffyChallenge is on! Issued by Tim Smith with The Smith Group, a team of agents affiliated with the Newport Beach office of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, the Duffy Challenge encourages people to show off their hyperlocal knowledge and see who can do the Duffy dance best.

The Duffy dance was introduced last week in The Smith’s Group’s parody video “Teach Me How to Duffy,” based on Cali Swag District’s 2011 song “Teach Me How to Dougie,” and the video instantly caught on virally. It takes property marketing to new levels, featuring a few seconds of Smith rapping features of his $44,995,000 listing at 1813 East Bay Ave. in Newport Beach, Calif., and showcasing the expansive property and Newport Beach lifestyle. “What makes this video catchy is that it creatively shows what Newport Beach is all about. Duffys are a big part of our community, and it made us think about other communities across the U.S. and what makes them unique. When you live in a community, you gain hyper local knowledge and it’s fun to celebrate that,” said Smith. “So bring it on! We challenge everyone to show us their best Duffy moves, hashtag #DuffyChallenge and post their videos to our challenge site.”

The first-place winner is awarded a trip for two to Newport Beach, including airfare, two nights at the new Lido House hotel, dinner at Nobu, dinner at The Cannery, and a day on a Duffy.
