ERA Real Estate, a global franchising leader, today announced that a real estate leader in the Tri-State region serving Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C., formerly RE/Max 2000, has joined ERA Real Estate. Established in 1989, the firm will now operate as ERA Realty Group.

Through this affiliation the ERA® brand can extend its reach as an innovation leader by providing new technology and resources to more than 55 ERA Realty Group agents and its two offices in Silver Spring and Rockville, MD.

For Jim Thomas, Owner of ERA Realty Group, technology has always played a large role in his career. With a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and a master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Thomas worked for NASA and later implemented submarine missile test programs in the Navy. Shortly after, he transitioned into real estate and utilized his technology background, which has reinforced his business for nearly 45 years.

ERA Real Estate Understands Technology

“From day one, ERA has stood for Electronic Realty Associates, and people like Jim Thomas, who is a passionate advocate for technology to serve agents and customers, are exactly who we want in our network,” said Simon Chen, president and CEO of ERA Real Estate. “Welcoming him into the ERA family means more opportunities for us provide the right tools and resources for more agents to succeed.”“ERA understands the true value of technology and how to apply it properly in the market,” said Jim Thomas, Owner of ERA Realty Group. “I’m excited to work with current independent agents, and prospective agents, and teach them the true powers of the ERA brand.” In 2017 Thomas’ company reached more than $144 million in transactions. With the support of Zap®,ERA’s lead generation program, he hopes to further boost transactions and productivity with the ultimate goal of doubling the size of his team and adding new offices.

“The more tech you have, the more outreach you can have in your community. And the Zap program is the ticket for us,” Thomas added. “Combine that with ERA’s acquisition services and we’re really in a position to thrive.”
