The firm will now operate as <strong>Finger Lakes Sotheby&#8217;s International Realty, <\/strong>Sotheby\u2019s announced on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Skaneateles, New York-based firm has been owned and operated by broker Jerry Morrissey for more than 12 years. It serves the central New York and the Finger Lakes regions, and areas up to Lake Ontario.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cJerry and his team have been operating in the region for several years and have grown to become one of the area&#8217;s most successful independently owned companies,\u201d said Philip White, president and CEO of Sotheby&#8217;s International Realty, in a prepared statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The firm consists of real estate associates and <a href=\"https:\/\/fingerlakessothebysrealty.com\/aboutus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">partners<\/a> that include the Jane Ross-Lauren Ryan team, Tom Morrissey, Ray Tapio, and Jacqueline Jones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;This area is a part of me\u2026,\u201d Morrissey said. \u201cSotheby&#8217;s International Realty checked those boxes and enables us to combine our local knowledge and expertise with its unrivaled brand recognition, marketing power, and international exposure \u2013 a home run for our clients, markets, and agents.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Morrissey was born and raised in Central New York and the Finger Lakes region, and his professional career <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/jerry-morrissey-bb472a2b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">spans<\/a> more than two decades in the real estate industry. In 1993, Morrissey founded and served as the CEO of <strong>Prolac, <\/strong>and later became an associate broker at <strong>Remax Masters.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2010, Morrissey and his partners started an independently-owned boutique real estate company, <strong>FLR<\/strong>, in the Finger Lakes Region, where Morrissey led the business growth initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to White, the Finger Lakes region is considered a \u201chidden gem,\u201d with lakes and landscapes.
