{"id":367,"date":"2020-06-02T06:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-06-02T06:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.realtrends.com\/blog\/2020\/06\/02\/how-to-be-a-powerful-presenter\/"},"modified":"2025-03-13T02:01:56","modified_gmt":"2025-03-13T02:01:56","slug":"how-to-be-a-powerful-presenter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.realtrends.com\/blog\/2020\/06\/02\/how-to-be-a-powerful-presenter\/","title":{"rendered":"How to be a Powerful Presenter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of the most important skills sales professionals need to possess is the ability to be a powerful presenter.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>I\u2019ve made a list for you, of a few things that every great presenter should know:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The customer is always thinking, <em>\u201cSo, what\u2019s in it for me?\u201d<\/em> Be prepared to show them the benefits.<\/li>\n<li>Extensive research and preparation is critical; leave everything you can about your client, their needs and your competition.<\/li>\n<li>Take the time to prepare an excellent proposal and a list of key questions to ask.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure your presentation is more persuasive than informative.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure your presentation grabs their attention.<\/li>\n<li>Practice your presentation.<\/li>\n<li>Make a list of potential objections and practice your best responses.<\/li>\n<li>Give yourself time before the presentation to get your head in the game.<\/li>\n<li>Bring your personality to the table. It\u2019s show time \u2013 don\u2019t be boring.<\/li>\n<li>Make the presentation interactive, don\u2019t pitch them or talk at them.<\/li>\n<li>Close as soon as you see the opportunity to do so.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Grab Their Attention:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The first eight seconds you have of a prospect\u2019s attention span are crucial.&nbsp; If you had only 8 seconds to win or lose the sale, what would you say in those 8 seconds to make an impact?<\/p>\n<p>Here are a few ways that you can grab their attention:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tell a real life, third party story about something another customer has experienced.<\/li>\n<li>Give your prospect a critical piece of news or information that is relevant to them.<\/li>\n<li>Share statistics that they will find interesting.<\/li>\n<li>Give them sincere recognition or congratulate them on an achievement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The Proper Use of Visual Aids:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sometimes salespeople use visual aids as a crutch, and often they completely overuse them.&nbsp; They should only be used to enhance or highlight your presentation.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Take only the key pieces you need, don\u2019t overwhelm your audience.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure your visual aids are appealing.<\/li>\n<li>Practice ahead of time exactly how you are going to use them.<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t immediately hand them to the customer, this will take their attention off of you.
