Newman agrees with analysts who say suburban housing could be a better investment for homebuyers than an urban dwelling, given the uncertainty around the coronavirus and its multiple effects on dense population centers. \u201cMuch of the value of homes outside of the central city is in the structure and the fact that there is room to build more of them,\u201d Newman says. \u201cHome prices outside of densely populated urban areas tend to follow construction costs, so there shouldn\u2019t be much movement in those prices.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><span><strong><span lang=\"EN\">Falling urban home prices. <\/span><\/strong><span lang=\"EN\">As a result of more people leaving the city for the suburbs, economists say home prices in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/u7061146.ct.sendgrid.net\/ls\/click?upn=4tNED-2FM8iDZJQyQ53jATUaNKr35L-2FBXJOJzIT9mMKfa9pB9TAzUj7x5-2FIlOj5RmIQJu33dLDd-2FsTdyxQPJZHV6-2B-2FdGeYcUy-2FTBBZu-2BRlucXiy2wXj45-2BU76-2BHXN7CM4tOmLykMBtJvH7yr2fpanohw-3D-3DSFdO_-2FYltCSDm0LSzJb4zkeGx22RBM1w0wt9IYC5iw2B19NBsPp4-2BqGONa6LSQTxucCaZd86DywkfZCuFRGAGF2UjAzvk-2FxoJzwR89mUT3diS7weQ-2B903iP5nEEYaV2WJroqH5h9OTscXa1oifdItHGACyj9TWs-2FkIZbceH5H3-2FnmuANZk871-2FNbXZ9XlLzSt-2F6CCabmiZgSEa3mEgBAmWpKQaBwT8xHdDlf4pPiueuxm6Vwod1lbU3y8WgpWVEkL-2BXB40MehznZxTVUAGKebH0uBdoH0ZY-2BMdN-2B39vgQMdzV3-2F56krECLU0cQSFUPBQLZ8E-2BSRp5yf2-2FDEmmn-2FWo5TtaOygOj57Wdsy8eVsrZMH4sCwmXGKsRZ3B0ToaJQq2MLGc\">urban areas <\/a><span lang=\"EN\">may fall as a result. \u201cBut it\u2019s too early to count out urban areas altogether,\u201d Newman says. \u201cWe\u2019ve had other periods in history where cities survived societal and technological transformation. Meanwhile, relative bargains may be had in some markets if one wants to consider a city condo or property to rent out.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><span><strong><span lang=\"EN\">Low interest rates. \u201c<\/span><\/strong><span lang=\"EN\">Interest rates are the lowest in history,\u201d Newman says, \u201cif you&#8217;re looking to own a home it\u2019s a good time to buy. And it\u2019s also a good time to sell. For sellers, with demand especially high to move to the suburbs, limited supply, and low interest rates are creating an incentive to buy.
