Buying leads<\/a> is a common part of any real estate practice, but there are red flags to look out for when investing your hard earned money.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Have you heard the news? Realtor.com and News Corp. subsidiary, Move Inc., has been hit with a class-action lawsuit<\/a> by a couple of realtors who have had enough \u2014 and they\u2019re bringing their friends with them.<\/p>\n

The lawsuit alleges that the company has defrauded thousands of agents by failing to deliver the number of viable leads from realtor.com it promises.<\/p>\n

Big surprise? Not really, especially for anyone who has ever invested in leads from realtor.com.<\/p>\n

The way most people would describe the leads? Let\u2019s just say it rhymes with pit.<\/p>\n

Before we dig into why this isn\u2019t surprising and how to avoid falling into this trap for lead generation efforts in the future, let\u2019s look into the facts of the complaint.<\/p>\n
