And while this would be a major accomplishment for <em>any<\/em> new agent, Brody was a stay-at-home mom for 12 years, has two young daughters\u2014one of whom has autism\u2014is going through a divorce, and has only lived in her current town for four years.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve wanted to get licensed for so long, but my daughters\u2019 needs came before mine,\u201d says Brody, who is originally from Denmark, and who lived in China for four years. \u201cNow that I\u2019m going through a divorce, I have to be able to provide for myself and my children. This is my chance to realize my dream.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-50282\" src=\"https:\/\/www.realtrends.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2021\/01\/Screen-Shot-2018-09-28-at-12_32_51-PM.png\" alt=\"generate business\" width=\"163\" height=\"161\"><\/p>\n<p>After pairing up with another new agent\/mom who previously worked in law enforcement, Brody started looking for ways to build out her sphere of influence in a town where she had very few contacts. Here are three ways she\u2019s doing it:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Create enticing packages for specific groups.<\/strong> Brody is putting together a campaign to help law enforcement professionals buy homes. \u201cWe reached out to loan officers, home inspectors, attorneys, and home warranty firms,\u201d says Brody, \u201cand we put together a package that basically translates into a $2,000 savings on all of those services.\u201d To promote the package, Brody plans to do \u201croll calls\u201d at local police stations, meet with officers, offer them the package, and \u201csee where that takes us.\u201d<\/li>\n<li><strong>Leverage grassroots marketing techniques. <\/strong>Brody recently placed an order for black and yellow (Baird &amp; Warner\u2019s colors) ice cream scoops. Now she\u2019s going to use them to drum up more business. \u201cI\u2019m going to go around and personally knock on doors in my neighborhood,\u201d she says, \u201cand offer people the \u2018market scoop\u2019 (e.g., a flyer that includes market statistics, trends, and information about Brody and her services) with my little ice cream scoopers.\u201d<\/li>\n<li><strong>Utilize online marketing tools. <\/strong>Brody set up a <a href=\"social-media-business-pages-pros-cons\/\">Facebook page<\/a> that she uses to share short market and trend articles. \u201cI\u2019m sharing whatever is out there right on my business Facebook page,\u201d she explains. \u201cMy goal is to help buyers and sellers get educated on what\u2019s going on in our market while also getting myself in front of them.
