The new LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance has announced its Board of Directors in advance of the organization’s launch on October 1.
John Thorpe was elected as The Alliance’s first president. Alex Cruz will serve as Vice President, Patrick Ruble as Secretary and Scott Armstrong, who will serve as interim Treasurer for the remainder of 2020. All other roles will extend through the end of 2021. Veteran mortgage lender Ryan Weyandt has been named the CEO.
The Board was confirmed by the 53-person Steering Committee that consists of leading members of the real estate industry including agents, brokers, brand leaders, lending and title professionals and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
The Alliance is an inclusive organization founded in June as a 501(c)6 non-profit corporation dedicated to enhancing the professional lives of its members while providing consumers with the proper resources to assist in buying, selling and enjoying their home. David Charron was inducted into the Council of Multiple Listing Services (CMLS) Hall of Fame during a virtual CMLS conference (CMLS2020) on Sept. 28. The honor is a means of recognizing and acknowledging a lifetime of leadership, energy, and intellect that improves and elevates the multiple listing services industry.

Since August 2017, Canopy MLS has operated as the wholesale vendor for the MLS of Catawba Valley, providing core MLS services, training and support for subscribers who serve buyers and sellers in the Hickory-Lenoir area of North Carolina. The consolidation of MLSCV allows some 630 subscribers to continue to receive more robust and streamlined services, access to improved products, standardized data feeds, more exposure for sellers, and increased options for buyers, all from a single source.

An incredibly strong showing of support enabled Jack Conway & Company to raise $67,146 to support those facing housing insecurity in Eastern Massachusetts. Monies were raised at the 36th Annual Jack Conway Memorial Golf Tournament which was held in conjunction with a Conway-funded Matching Gifts Drive. The proceeds will benefit Father Bill’s & Mainspring whose efforts serve individuals, veterans and families facing homelessness.
The sense of need compelled unmatched generosity this year and all 32 team slots sold out in record time. On September 24, 128 agents, vendors and partners participated in the golf event held at Easton Country Club in Easton, MA that looked a bit different than past years as efforts were taken to comply with Covid-19 precautions, but with the great cause, great company, and great weather, the event was a huge success.
In lieu of what would have been an auction, raffle, and luncheon event, additional physical and electronic donations were taken on the course as well as online by those who could not be at the tournament but wanted a way to contribute. All funds raised on the course and over the 3 days surrounding the event were matched for a grand total of $67,146 for Father Bill’s & Mainspring.
The Council of Multiple Listing Services (CMLS) named Matthew Consalvo, CEO of Arizona Regional Multiple Listing Service (ARMLS), the sixth recipient of the Shuttleworth MLS Executive of the Year Award during the virtual CMLS conference (CMLS2020) on Oct. 5. Christopher Carrillo, CEO of Metro MLS and the 2019 Shuttleworth Award recipient, made the announcement.
The Shuttleworth MLS Executive of the Year Award is an annual award that recognizes leaders who are determined to have exhibited the highest qualities of leadership within their organizations and demonstrated a dedication to excellence in Making The Market Work®.
Consalvo’s determination and vision have proven invaluable to ARMLS, which is the largest MLS in Arizona and one of the top 10 MLSs in the nation with more than 38,000 REALTORS® at over 3,100 broker offices. His relationship with the MLS began as a Supra Field Office manager for GE Security in 2003. As part of an ARMLS acquisition in 2009, Consalvo was named director of support operations before being promoted to COO in 2011 and CEO in 2012. His name has consistently appeared on the Swanepoel Power 200 since 2013.
The award itself is named after Peter Shuttleworth, former executive vice president of Metro MLS and the first CMLS Hall of Fame inductee. Shuttleworth built one of the first truly effective regional MLSs in the United States by bringing brokers, REALTORS®, and REALTOR® associations together around the idea that data can be shared without borders.
