REAL Trends Market Leaders Report Released!

REAL Trends, the trusted source for news, research and information about the real estate brokerage industry, announced the release of its 2018 REAL Trends 500 Market Leaders Report. The REAL Trends 500 Market Leaders Report ranks the nation’s leading residential real estate brokerage firms, by both sides and volume, in over 125 metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs) by state. Our easy-to-read report lists brokerages by state and by city/MSA.
“Brokerages can use this report to gauge how their brokerage is doing compared to other firms in their Metro,” says Steve Murray, president of REAL Trends. “Others can use this report to determine who the most active brokerages are in different cities and market areas.”
The RT 500 Market Leaders Report is a section of a larger report, the REAL Trends 500 Rankings that was released last month. The REAL Trends 500 is an independently verified compilation of the nation’s leading residential real estate companies. For the Market Leaders Report, we placed firms into separate metropolitan areas to compare how they are doing relative to their regional peers. While we took care to locate each firm within a metropolitan area by the location of its headquarters, we are aware that the total of their production may, in some cases, fall outside that specific metropolitan area (as defined by the Census Bureau).
We do our best to get market-by-market breakdowns and try to question those that may have dispersed production outside of specific metro areas.  In some cases, we use combined statistical areas, as defined by the Census Bureau, given the footprint of operations within various markets.
This year’s REAL Trends 500 Ranking Report represents the most comprehensive collection of data assembled on the leaders of the residential brokerage industry. Numbers are documented by outside accounting firms. To download the 2018 REAL Trends 500 Market Leaders Report, go to
