“We are honored and humbled to have been a part of this community for the past 100 years,” said Thomas Blanchard, III, president of Blanchard and Calhoun, great-grandson of founder George Blanchard, and the fourth member of the family to serve as the company’s leader. “This milestone is a natural opportunity to reflect on and celebrate how our company – and our community – has grown and improved over the years.” Blanchard unveiled the project to the firm’s employees and agents at a staff meeting at the Miller Theater in December, thanking the many individuals who have worked to ensure the company’s success and longevity.

“I’ve long admired the Blanchard and Calhoun family of businesses. I had the pleasure of working with Blanchard and Calhoun Real Estate Company and can say firsthand that they are a first class business who put the needs of their clients first. My wife Malisa and I are longtime clients of Blanchard and Calhoun Insurance Agency and have valued the sterling customer service they provide for many years now.

A tried and true family owned and operated local business, Augusta is fortunate to be home to such a successful business who gives so much back to our community,” said Deke Copenhaver, former mayor of Augusta and owner of Copenhaver Consulting.

Throughout its centennial year, Blanchard and Calhoun will share 100 stories (one for each year they have been in business) about their company, ranging from their earliest ventures to modern innovations and accomplishments. Today – as it did 100 years ago – the company’s portfolio includes residential and commercial real estate transactions, property management, development, relocation, personal and commercial insurance, and mortgage lending, making it the only real estate firm in Augusta to provide such a comprehensive array of services.
