Top L.A. Compass agent Morgan Trent moves to Christie’s

Trent brings a database of athletes, celebrities, and CEOs to Aaron Kirman’s firm

President of Trent Luxury and former NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Morgan Trent has left Compass and joined AKG | Christie’s International Real Estate. Trent Luxury has more than $8 billion in total sales, according to the firm.

Trent, a top producing luxury residential real estate agent, is a Southern California native who graduated from the University of Michigan and was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2009. He continued to work in real estate during the off seasons.

Trent works alongside agent Andi McAfee, who holds real estate licenses in California and South Carolina and is a member of the Beverly Hills Greater Los Angeles Association of Realtors.

“The Christie’s International Real Estate brand alone gives us the look and feel that we weren’t able to attain at other brokerages and is much more aligned with where we see Trent Luxury going over the next several years,” Trent said in a prepared statement.

While at Compass, Trent sold 5 Avalon Vista, a property worth $21 million, and 627 Moreno, a $19.5 million property. His firm was also responsible for the most expensive home transaction in Westwood during 2022, in which Trent represented Russell Westbrook of the L.A. Lakers in the sale of a $36.5 million Brentwood property.

“Morgan is one of the real estate agents in the country who has a database of the who’s who. Representing athletes, celebrities, and CEOs alike, his database is second to none and we are thrilled to have him as one of our partners here at AKG,” said Aaron Kirman, CEO of AKG | Christie’s International Real Estate.

Kirman made a similar move to Trent’s late last year when he left Compass and launched his own firm in partnership with Christie’s International Real Estate. The top real estate broker and CNBC’s “Listing Impossible” star and his team will now work alongside Trent.

Kirman’s team, based in Beverly hills, has 160 agents, 14 full-time support staff and a total of $14 billion in luxury real estate sales, with $1.6 billion in 2022 and $1.119 billion in 2021. Its offices are located throughout Los Angeles and Ventura counties.

The Aaron Kirman Group, or AKG, ranked fourth in California in the 2022 RealTrends America’s Best rankings – mega team by sales volume category.

“AKG | Christie’s International Real Estate is the perfect partner for Trent Luxury with such a proven track record and presence in the luxury space,” said Trent.

Chicago-based real estate technology firm @properties acquired Christie’s in December 2021. Christie’s has signed on or renewed more than 20 affiliate brokerages in the time since. @properties ranked ninth among the largest residential brokerage firms in the U.S. in the RealTrends 500, with a closed sales volume of more than $23.9 billion in 2021.

Christie’s currently operates in almost 50 countries and territories through its invitation-only affiliate network of about 90 member firms.
