Ryan Kaplan leaves Douglas Elliman and Fredrik Ekland’s team

Ryan Kaplan, a member of Fredrik Ekland’s eponymous Douglas Ellimanbased Ekland-Gomes Team as seen on Million Dollar Listing, is leaving Douglas Elliman for the Corcoran Group, according to an announcement on Monday.

Kaplan will be based out of Corcoran’s West Side office, which is led by Senior Managing Director Joel Dommel.

With over 15 years of real estate industry experience and a Business Administration degre from Questrom School of Management at Boston University, Kaplan had a triple concentration in real estate, law, and entrepreneurship.

In addition, Kaplan has completed over $100 million in transaction volume since his first year as a broker in 2019, according to the release. To date, Kaplan has been involved in the sale, leasing, development, and financing of over $500 million worth of real estate spanning residential, commercial, retail, and industrial assets.

“Ryan has proven himself to be an exceptional talent in the real estate industry, and we’re very lucky to have him join us at Corcoran,” Pamela Liebman, the president and CEO of Corcoran, said in a statement. “We have a strong presence in the new development space, and with his duality of having been a developer, I know Ryan will achieve great success with the power of Corcoran behind him.”

Kaplan added: “It’s uncommon to see a developer expand to the brokerage side of the business. Corcoran was swift to recognize the rare combination of skills I bring to the table, and offered me an amazing platform to focus on expanding my involvement in the new development space.”
