Talk to him about: International real estate trends
Peter Gilmour is a worldly, knowledgeable and passionate business professional who has excelled in the real estate industry and is now REAL Trends chief foreign correspondent.
After graduating from the University of Cape Town with a degree accounting, he spent many years dabbling as a broker in partnership with his father. In 1994, Peter purchased the master franchise rights for RE/MAX in 10 countries in Southern Africa and became the first country to open a RE/MAX outside of North America. After successfully driving this sales market, Peter and, his wife Val, moved to Colorado where Peter served as a senior vice president at RE/MAX headquarters.
Outside of the workplace, Peter takes pride in his family. He and Val have four children and nine grandchildren. With children living in Australia and Singapore, as well as close by in Cape Town, South Africa, he gets to travel the world to spend time with the family.
In addition to travel, Peter enjoys swimming and golfing. In fact, his top bucket list item is to play golf at Augusta National Golf Club. As if that isn’t cool enough, Peter has already crossed off many bucket list items, including swimming in the Devils Pool on the edge of Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.
Peter stays successful in the professional world by keeping organized lists and creating good business relations with people. He has a passion for developing people’s potential by offering great leadership and a well-defined culture.
