10 Secrets to Success

Being successful in real estate is about being consistent in your marketing approach and being motivated to drive forward no matter what the circumstances. Phil Hoover with RE/MAX West in Boise, Idaho, recently wrote the book "101 Real Estate Success Secrets," where he shares "everything no one told you when you went into real estate."  
Here's a few of Hoover's tips:

1. Think of Yourself as "You Inc." You and only you are responsible for your outcomes.
2. Become a Blogger. Blogs are a must-have for up-to-date, proactive real estate agents.
3. Hire a Coach. A good coach will provide you with an objective view of yourself and your business activities.
4. Put Your URL on Everything. It's been said that it takes 32 impressions before a consumer will remember your name, your website or blog.
5. Lose the Sunglasses. Make eye contact with your clients, and you'll improve communication with them.
6. It's OK to Work With People You Like. Life is too short to be working with people who disrespect you.
7. Send HUD-1s to Your Clients in January. Every buyer or seller you close a transaction with is going to need a copy of their HUD-1 closing statement when they prepare their income tax returns.
8. Build a Business Directory. Working by referral doesn't have to be limited to personal referrals.
9. Get an Accountability Partner. Knowing that someone will be checking on you will help you become more successful.
10. Use Forms Software. You don't show property with a horse and buggy do you?

    Great tips all around. One more?
    Schedule a certain amount of time to do Lead Generation Every Day. You can do all the rest, but if you don't reach out to people, you won't make it. You must offer your services in a structured planned way every day to succeed at a high level!
